To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading: Checkmate by Malorie Blackman and Spoil Of War by Pheonix Sullivan and If I Stay by Gayle Forman

I am really enjoying the Noughts and Crosses series by Malorie Blackman and the third book is so far living up to the first two. I love how the simple, basic idea of the books is so powerful on its own before all the added twists and turns. They really open your eyes and your mind to some of the deep-rooted prejudices in our society.

Spoil of War is hard work but I’m not sure if that’s just because I am reading it on my Kindle app on my laptop and I’m not a big e-reader. Perhaps if I had a ‘dead-tree’ copy I would have finished it long since.

If I Stay is one of the ten-million books Liberty has heaped onto my TBR pile and just happened to fall under my hand when I shut my eyes and pulled out a book to read next. I was crying before the page numbers hit double figures, it’s awesome.

Recently finished: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

I seemed to be the only person on the planet that hadn’t read this trilogy so I am pleased to have finally caught up. I think Catching Fire was actually my favourite of the three, followed by this one. I don’t know if it was just all the hype but the first book didn’t seem to be as amazing as everyone lead me to believe it would be. I felt the other two books had more depth than the first which just seemed to rely on the shock tactics  throughout. DOn’t get me wrong – I loved book one but I loved two and three more.

Reading next: Lady Chatterley’s Lover by D. H. Lawrence

I’ve been meaning to read this since I was about 17. I finally own it on my Kindle app so once I’m done with Spoil of War I will get on with it so I can actually pretend like I know what people are talking about when they mention it.
