As a surprise treat for the soon-to-be-five year old, we packed the kids into the car this morning and headed off to visit the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay for the day. We had a great time there, rounding off with a good long play session in the brilliant adventure playgrounds there and grabbing a treat Macdonald’s for tea on the way home.
The cake got made and she loved it (the inside was full of sweets – she couldn’t decide which to be more excited about – that or Olaf on the top!) We had a nice day, quiet play with presents in the morning then an afternoon tea party with my parents, Liberty and her boyfriend over before a quick park trip in the sunshine before bed time.
Birthday celebrations continued into today with a second party tea and round of presents at English Folkfan’s house. The new sand pit went down a treat with both Smalls!
Someone got facepaints and lots of dressing up clothes for her birthday so today she became Sleeping Beauty the Tiger!
Caius took today off work and we decided to make the most of the sunshine and headed off to the beach at Rhyl. The kids loved it, especially Artie – sometimes I wish we didn’t live in a totally land-locked county.
A quiet day after the excitement of the rest of the week, we spent it doing activities out of the Summer Jar – here Arthur is painting himself a pet lizard 🙂
Back at English Folkfan’s house for the afternoon, we went on a bug hunt and I managed to catch a butterfly!
Sounds like the perfect summer week to me. Happy birthday to your gorgeous 5 year old – that sleeping beauty dress brings back memories for me!
