First up – today is apparently Carole Finds Her Wings’ 5th Birthday! Hard to believe I’ve been posting on here for five whole years – I don’t think I ever expected to keep it up this long but I just don’t seem to be able to give it up 😉
Now on to week #24 of 2015 – this year is just flying by!
Today I met up with Liberty for a treat of Afternoon Tea at a cute new little tea room that has opened in town. It was very nice – particularly the scone (with the yellow butter curls) but the cake selection let it down a little because most of them were just shop bought mini cakes. All the homemade stuff was lovely though.
Caius noticed I was getting a bit stressed out and worn out by life today and kicked me out of the house after lunch to go and read in Costa and have some Me Time. Arthur is being so much trouble at the moment I’m constantly exhausted and it’s reflecting in everything I do. It was good to take a little time out and not have to worry about anything – apart from how disappointingly hard work my new (yellow) review book is. This genre of book should be super easy to read but this is a bit of a slog.
It was Arthur’s final Pre-School sports day today and it was a beautiful day all day which was great. Arthur seemed to have fun aside from one burst of temper that saw him sitting out a couple of races – pretty good going for him at the moment. He was very chuffed with his medals at the end of the day.
Today’s photo is of my lazy dinner (in a yellow bowl) – I am exhausted and hurting after such a busy week. My back/hips/knees are complaining and I’m tired from dealing with Arthur. He had his first induction morning for Reception class this morning – it went well and he behaved really nicely for his new teacher. He got tired and was ratty with me but he gave his teacher a cuddle at the end of the session which reassured me that he will settle okay.
For the first time in a while I decided to have a go at painting my nails – and I even got adventurous and tried a new technique I saw on Facebook. I quite like the rainbow-like results.
Today we went on an adventure to the Sea Life Centre in Manchester. It was good fun and Tori was a star – she was well-behaved and asked lots of questions, explored and practised her reading by telling us what fish were in each tank using all the signage. She loved this cool turtle that was stood outside and was very proud of her (yellow) Lego fun pack that she got for completing the kids trail.
Today was a family outing to Welshpool Airshow – we went with my parents and were also joined by my brother, his wife and their two youngest. It was a brilliant day, we saw some amazing stunt displays, reveled in the force of the Eurofighter and watched the Vulcan display for probably the last time. There was a yellow plane there but I didn’t get a photo of it so my photo for today is of little Riley investigating the ear defenders that he much appreciated when the big jets were around!

I like the idea of being chucked out of the house to go and read in a coffee shop.
