Soundtrack Sunday

Is January done yet? I know it gets said every year, but this month really does drag on a bit, doesn’t it?

Let’s try to battle off the gloom with some music, shall we?

Sea Shanty Medley by Home Free

I watched/listened to this one with Maggie, Liberty’s daughter, earlier in the week when I was round for cuddles. She picked it out from a selection of musical offerings and was duly fascinated, and I had sea shanties stuck in my head for about three days.

Try Everything by Shakira

I do love this song. It’s a little ray of sunshine in music form – which is something we could really do with at the moment.

*glares at sky*

The Not-So-Smalls Random Time Travel Hits!

I failed at coming up with a theme for the weekly feature in time to write this, so in a moment of panic I got both Tori and Arthur to pick a random date each between today and when the UK Charts officially started and you are getting the UK #1s from those days!

When The Going Gets Tough by Boyzone

Arthur’s date of choice was 17th of March 1999.

I love this song, and I can always see the video in my mind when I hear it – it’s just one of those Comic Relief hits. It stuck!

(I love the original too, don’t get me wrong, but I am of an age where the 90s boybands were a *thing* and I have an eternal soft spot for them. So shush.)

Moon River by Danny Williams

Tori bewilderedly came up with 10th January 1962 for her date and pulled this classic out of the bag!

Weirdly, Bobbety and I had a conversation about the lyrics of this song earlier this week. Must be something in the air…
