What I Cooked Wednesday #3


How is it Wednesday again already?!

Oh, and the answer to ‘what is gremolata’ appears to be lemon zest, garlic, parsley and lemon juice all chopped together and sprinkled on top of things.

This Week’s Planned Meals:

Pizza – Because Monday.

Slow-Cooked Meatballs and Cheesy Mash (Sorted Sidekick App) Yep, again. Told you this one went down well!

Only down side this time was that my trusty pyrex baking dish decided to give up the ghost on me after serving and had to go in the recycling bin. Sad times.

Gnocchi With Sausage Ragù (Sorted Sidekick App) – I remembered how much I like gnocchi when I cooked it last week, so I’m trying a different recipe this time. It’s just good, hearty comfort food which is exactly what January requires!

Chilli Con Chorizo Tostadas (Sorted Sidekick App) No, I don’t know what Tostadas are other than ‘Mexican’ – the picture just looked nice. I’ll report back to you when I know more!

Sticky Miso Rice & Chicken Traybake (Sorted Sidekick App) – I have only ever cooked with miso once before and it did not go well… Here’s hoping this is not a repeat of that. It has been a few years, this is a totally different recipe, and the miso paste I have acquired this time looks less hideous than the last stuff. It was also easier to source – last time I had to resort to the internet because it was far too exotic to buy off the shelf in sleepy Shropshire, but this time it was happily nestled with the soy sauce and other Asian cooking ingredients in Morrisons.

Pancetta and Spring Onion Tart (Sorted Sidekick App) with some sort of potato side …yes I am indecisive and can’t pick how to make my potatoes in advance.

Pasta of some variety – I can’t decide between two recipes so I will decide when Sunday rolls around and let you know what I picked next week!
