I have listened to music a bit more this week – recently I have been absorbed in Audiobooks rather than listening to tunes, but I have found my physical read at the moment is taking up all my book brain so I haven’t got an Audiobook on the go. (I’m reading Stephen King’s Pet Sematary and things just got gory…)
Cue the music!
A Little More Lost by Georgia Ku
This one is entirely new to me this week – I happened to hear it on the radio when I was driving to my sister’s house to do some pooch sitting and really enjoyed it.
It’s catchy and light and has gone straight onto my favourites playlist.
Money, Fame, & Fortune by The Goo Goo Dolls
I have rediscovered this album this week. It is definitely one of my favourites at this time of year. I’m not sure why, it just has cold weather vibes.
Welcome to the CFHW Colour Chart 2024!
I had an idea!
When looking something entirely different up on the internet, I came across this chart of colour/shade names from grammarvocab.com:
My Challenge? To find a song for every colour on this chart featuring the word for the colour in either the song title or the band name. There’s 180 colours on the chart so you are getting 3 or four songs a week to fit them in between now and the end of the year!
Some of these might be easier than others, but here we go with the first four: Pink, Ruby, Violet, and Mulberry.
Perfect by P!nk
Okay so this one was easy in some ways (it was always going to be a P!nk track) but impossible in others (how could I possibly choose just one?!)
I went for this track because it is possibly my very favourite P!nk song of all. I just love it.
Ruby Tuesday by The Rolling Stones
Man I hadn’t heard this song in aaaaaaaaaages. I had forgotten how good it is.
Violets For Roses by Lana Del Rey
I had to go hunting for this one. I couldn’t think of any songs with violet in the title or artists with it in their name – only a couple of songs with the word violet in the lyrics.
Cue asking Google for help and then listening to several new songs until I found one I liked.
It would seem that most songs about violets are depressing though. There were a lot of dirges.
Mulberry Street by twenty one pilots
I almost put ‘Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush’ for this one, but I couldn’t find a version on YT that wasn’t excruciating to listen to.
So you get this catchy little bop from twenty one pilots instead.
Which songs would you have picked for Pink, Ruby, Violet, or Mulberry?
