We are playing catch up here, so I am back again with some more colour-themed musical escapades!
I did pretty well last time and only had to resort to Google for the one track – I wonder how I will do this round.
Next up on the chart is: Turkish, Caramel, Punch, Amethyst, and Ash.
First impressions? I’m gonna need that search engine.

Turkish Delight by David Crowder Band
A song written about Turkish Delight inspired by The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe. This seemed the most logical one for me to choose from the suggested list because my immediate response to the prompt was ‘can’t I just pick a book and use TLTWATW?’
Turkish Delight was possibly one of the biggest disappointments of my life when I first tried it. Edmund Pevensie threw everyone in that book under the bus for the promise of a room full of the stuff, so I logically assumed it was going to be the best thing I had ever put in my mouth ever.
There are no words to describe how let down and horrified I was when I discovered the stuff tastes like licking a solid cube of your Grandma’s perfume. He ruined everything for that?! Bleurgh. Moron.
Sweet Caroline by David Hasselhoff
For a bit of variation, I outsourced this one to the Not-So-Smalls, and Arthur’s immediate response was ‘I have an idea! Why not just put Sweet Caroline and replace Caroline with caramel?’
This was such a ridiculous response I decided to not only go with it, but roll harder with it by using The Hoff’s version to make it even more daft.
So please, enjoy these three and a half minutes of Hoff Smouldering whilst replacing every use of the titular name with ‘Caramel’ in your head.
Fists of Fury by Terrorvision
Not entirely the prompt but ‘punch’ to ‘fists of fury’ doesn’t seem like too much of a jump to me. And it was the first thing that came to mind, in a big old wave of nostalgia because I chuffing loved Terrorvision back in college/uni. Saw them live twice and everything.
Amethyst by Fightstar
I can’t believe I’m featuring Fightstar on my blog. I still haven’t forgiven Charlie for leaving Busted to go form Fightstar. Or for coming back to Busted after swearing he never would – stick to your guns, Man!
Also McBusted were better than reformed Busted, which means you were the weak link anyway, so *blows raspberry in grumpy teenager mode*
Girl From Mars by Ash
Yay! One I didn’t have to really think about or struggle with! Such a good track, whoop whoop for the ’90s again.
Which songs would you have picked for those prompts – did I miss something you think was obvious?
