Right, I have studied that chart and we need to do five more bumper editions to make sure the Colour Chart finishes before the year runs out. We can do this!
So today if the first of the final five and what are our (probably ridiculous) prompts?
Lava, Army, Carmine, Cider, Cyber, Azure, Espresso, and Flamingo.
Why is lava down as a shade of grey???? Surely lava is fiery red or orange?? Who invented this chart?!
Also the last prompt should have been Orchid but we have already done that one once so I’m not repeating it.

Very relatable. Been there. I blame Somerset.
Also note the album name – Chipping Sudbury is forever one of my favourite place names because it’s so utterly ridiculous. Honestly, what is wrong with us Brits? Who thinks these place names up? Who approves them???? We’re all bonkers.

And then we bounce back to 2024 with a song that came out earlier this year. See, if I’d got too far ahed of myself, this would have existed yet and then I’d have had to work harder to find something that wasn’t… the other options I found, which were all awful. This is at least inoffensively dull and vaguely catchy.
Pretty Flamingo by Manfred Mann
The lyrics in this have always made me wonder… has the person who wrote this ever really looked at a flamingo? Because yes they’re a nice shade of pink but their faces look like they’ve been put on upside down…
Not sure I’d take being compared to flamingo as a compliment to be honest. But maybe that’s just me.
Well, we made it through another chapter of the chart! Covered a lot of music bases there as well.
