CFHW Colour Chart 2024 Grand Finale!

Well my carefully laid out plan to have a few posts over the last couple of weeks did not happen owing to me entirely forgetting to sit down and blog at all.

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and is enjoying a gentle betwixtmas.

This is going to be the last Colour Chart post, and I am just going to do as many as I can face from the remaining prompts. A few are repeats anyway, but there are a fair few left!

Buckle up, I’m going in!

One last look at the chart – I’m going to be picking the last tracks from Charcoal onwards. I am tempted to see if there are any songs I can use for more than one prompt as well… I’ll just have a bit of fun and we’ll see where we end up.

(chart of colour/shade names from grammarvocab.com)

Charcoal: Charcoal Lane by Archie Roach

Nice gentle start…

Sea: Beyond The Sea by Bobby Darin

This is going to stick in my head….

Spice & Baby: Stop by The Spice Girls

(Baby Spice… yes, that is my only link to the prompt ‘baby’.)

Mahogany: Mahogany by Snow Patrol

I just typed ‘mahogany’ so many times trying to find this song, that it not longer feels like a real word.

Space: Neighbourhood by Space

It was a toss up between this one and Female Of The Species but I feel like that one generally gets more airtime elsewhere.

Carnation: Carnation by The Jam

I got The Jam right as the answer to a quiz question the other day. Not about this song though.

Iron & Fire: The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden

Such an iconic track.

Pineapple & Apple: PPAP by PIKOTARO

I didn’t even have to think for this one. As soon as I saw that both apple and pineapple were left on the list it was a total no-brainer. And I make no apologies for the ear worm.

Smoke: Smoke Gets In Your Eyes by The Platters

Back to some ‘proper music’ after that brief pineapple-y interlude…

Seal: Fly Like An Eagle by Seal

Space Jam was so cool when it came out. And it still kinda is now… right?

Tortilla: TACOS by Little Big

Finishing with a family favourite of ours – we love Little Big and their utterly bonkers back catalogue. And as the two main foods mentioned in this song are Tacos and Burritos, which both involve tortillas (one crispy, one soft) – then it is perfect for the final prompt.

And there we go, our magical musical mystery rainbow tour is over.

Onwards to pastures new!
