Soundtrack Sunday

Hey Blogsters!

It’s been a while and I just haven’t sat down with my laptop very much.

The music has been playing in the background though, so here’s a sample of what’s been keeping me entertained over the last week or so…

Stars from ‘Les Miserables’ performed by Philip Quast

Earlier this week, I went to see the satellite broadcast of the Staged Concert of Les Mis with my Mum as her birthday treat. Which of course meant returning to the old habit of obsessively listening to the 10th Anniversary Concert version for a while.

Not the most well-known piece from the musical, Stars has always been one of my favourites. I regularly hum/sing it to myself on clear nights when the sky is full of stars.

Stars – in your multitudes, scarce to be counted,
filling the darkness with order and light.
You are the sentinels, silent and sure,
Keeping watch in the night.

Til You Can’t by Cody Johnson

This has been a regular old ear worm for the last fortnight.

If you gotta chance – take it.
Take it while you got a chance.
If you gotta dream – chase it.
‘Cause a dream won’t chase you back.
If you’re gonna love somebody –
Hold ’em as long and as strong and as close as you can –
‘Til you can’t.

Lost In The Woods from ‘Frozen 2’ performed by Jonathan Groff

Best Frozen song. Hands down.

Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark) by Papa Roach & Carrie Underwood

It’s not like me to worry
But when I see you fading in the dark
I’ll leave a light on for you
Through the long nights, I will be right
There for you if you drift too far
I’ll leave a light on for you

Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisley ft. Alison Krauss

Dunno what it is about this song, but I just love it.
