Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.

My teaser this week is from a book I actually pre-ordered last year, got very over excited about when it arrived and then never got time to read. Black Magic Sanction is the most recent in what is possibly my favourite series ever, The Hollows, by Kim Harrison. I love her world, I love her stories and I love her characters (particularly Jenks the pixie, who I do actually want to marry) and I’m so pleased to be back with them all in this latest instalment.

My “ink” was running thin, and I dabbed more blood from my finger to finish some poor slob’s name, someone who trusted a demon…someone like me. Not that I really trust Al, I thought, glancing at the instructions once more.

  1. This is quite a dark teaser 🙂 I’m rather intrigued by “dabbed more blood from my finger to finish some poor slob’s name”…

I wonder what it is with dark scenes that captivates most people and makes them want to read further. I guess it is the thrill of it!

  2. Great teaser! I keep meaning to pick up a Harrison book one day. Might be time to add some to the TBR list.

Please leave a comment, I'd love to hear what you think :)
