Reasons To Be Cheerful

It’s been an uppy downy week (what week isn’t?) and I’m utterly shattered in that way you only seem to get in late pregnancy but I’ve been looking forward to getting in, sitting down and reflecting on what I have to be cheerful about. I love this meme (Michelle, you are a genius) and I actually find myself looking forward to it every week 🙂

1.

We have had an ongoing battle trying to convince British Gas that we are not a business (we live in a flat above what USED to be a business, but is now closed down) since about April last year and this week, finally, they have sorted their act out and moved us onto a residential account. This means we are no longer being charged stupidly high rates or standing charges even when we have the gas switched off (as we did all Summer). Hooray!! *does mad dance*

My best friend from school and college got engaged at New Year and this week asked if me and the Tweenster will be bridesmaids at her wedding next year. I am already dying of excitement and so very very very happy for her and her lovely man

3.

This month has been a bit tough finance-wise for various reasons (including those mentioned in Reason 1) but today was pay day and although this doesn’t mean we are suddenly able to flash the cash and go mad, it did mean we were able to go out as a family today, have a lovely pub lunch, wander round the shops and then have hot chocolate and cake. It was a brilliant day out just the three of us – made extra special by the fact that we know there might not be many more ‘just the three of us’ days out left – soon three is going to be four…
