I’m sure these weeks keep getting shorter and shorter. It doesn’t seem five minutes since I was doing last week’s reasons!
1.
Arthur met his Great-Grandparents
On Sunday we made the trip up to Leeds to take Arthur to meet his Great-Grandparents and Great Aunty and Uncle too. It’s always lovely going up North to see the family, it feels like going home every time.
Tori had a whale of a time reorganising everyone’s houses and Arthur was much admired AND managed to not be sick on anyone all day. (Unlike his big sister who, rather annoyingly, appears to have inherited my travel sickness and didn’t quite make it all the way there without needing a bucket. Out of all the genes she had to pick, I wish she’d missed that one out…)
2.
I saw an old friend for the first time in years
It was great to have a catch up and to see her beautiful little girl too. Last time we saw each other neither of us had our babies or had even thought about them. We’ve been in touch almost daily through Facebook but it was our first face-to-face meeting in years – It’s not going to be that long before we see each other again this time. It’s not!

Tori is blossoming into a beautiful, independent little girl.
Suddenly she’s not just a toddler but a proper little person. She knows what she wants and is starting to know how to tell us (‘in there! in there! uh oh!!’) She’s feisty and full of character, endlessly exploring and discovering and constantly surprising us with new things.
She said Mummy this week for the first time – it’s been all Daddy up til then. Every time she says it I glow all over.
She is really starting to pay attention to Arthur now, bringing him toys and even coming over to cuddle or stroke him when he cries. She spent half of our trip to the shops today jabbering at people and pointing at ‘bay-bee’ to make sure they looked at him too.
My little girl isn’t so little any more but I love watching her learn and grow – and she’ll always be my baby.

Aww…our little guys are getting bigger and all grown up!! Great that Arthur’s been introduced to his extended family…I can’t wait to meet him!! Sounds like Tori is going to be a fab big sis!! xxx

Lovely reasons to be cheerful! Sorry about the travel sickness, reminded me that I had it really badly when I was a little one too. And those photos of Tori – she is SUCH a cutie!! 😀

Great reasons and a celebration of family life through generations. Well done for your part in maintaining that.
Seeing an old friend really does bring deep joy. Sanity came for me last year in the form of an old friend.
My reasons this week include some very cute pics too over at http://gigglingatitall.blogspot.com
