The First ‘Chapter Book’ You Remember Reading As A Child
I suspect there were many before this one but the first that sprang to mind was Cub In The Cupboard by Lucy Daniels – My Gran bought me this for Christmas and it started me off on the Animal Ark series. I ended up owning about 25 of them and borrowing many more from the library but Cub In The Cupboard was my first and was always a favourite.

Somebody has to look after a mischievous fox cub after its mother has been caught in a trap. Mandy and James learn how to cope with a baby fox, while they also try to discover who was responsible for trapping the mother fox.
On a total side note I have just discovered that ‘Lucy Daniels’ is a man…according to Wiki anyway…
