I’m Going To BritMums Live!

So back when the Super Early Bird Tickets went on sale I may have told Caius that I quite fancied going to BritMums. It was a moment of bravery/stupidity/brainlessness where I randomly believed for a few seconds that I was a brave, outgoing person who wanted to go meet people in ‘reality’ and have an adventure in London.

So Caius bought me a ticket and suddenly there was no way for not-brave, cowardly normal Carole to back out of the whole adventure. Now a hotel and train tickets are booked too so there is truly no backing out.

Which means I am going to have to start channeling that other Carole and speak to people and get myself out there. The first thing I did was get some MOO cards done for the blog, partly because I kidded myself I might need them and partly because I finally had an excuse to buy the pretty shinies that I have been eyeing up forever and ever.

But that wasn’t really useful in terms of calming my nerves or meeting people so now I’m joining in with the linky on BritMums to prove I am a real person…

Hair: Er. Brownish. I don’t really know. It’s been dyed for the last four years and I have just stripped it for a break but the colour removal stuff made me more ginger than I used to be. It may be gingery, it may be brown – only time will tell…

Eyes: Two, blue/green/light browny. Depends on the light. I hate that question. I usually just say ‘grey’ for simplicity.

Is this your first blogging conference?

Yes. I have helped at a conference as part of the staff (ThinkVis) and attended Alt. Fiction 2010 with Liberty (a venture which resulted in the two of us coming home and starting our blogs!) but this will be my first Blogging Conference. And my first ever solo conference venture. Thus the fear.

Are you attending both days?

I am indeedy. Hotel is booked, babysitter is booked (Caius, I love you!), train is booked – Weekend away, here I come!

What are you most looking forward to at BritMums Live 2013?

Putting faces to names (and real names to Twitter handles!)

What are you wearing?

Not sure yet but it will no doubt involve bright coloured trousers because I like those quite a lot!

What do you hope to gain from BritMums Live 2013?

Tips about improving my blog and writing and hopefully some new friends.

Um. I used to keep a pet woodlouse in an Utterly Butterly tub in my bedroom. It was called Wilbur.
