Where Did I Get It? I found it on my Kindle list – I assume Caius got it from somewhere.
Blurb: I was dating David. Actually, we lived together. It was great, so I never saw the breakup coming. I never saw the cheating, lying, dirtbag-jerk-a-hole, I’ve-been-sleeping-with-someone-else, heart-shattering BOMB… coming.
I’m not the type to wallow in a jug of ice cream (I tried. It didn’t work.)
I’m the type who does something crazy. But I can’t tell my best friends about it, or they’d stop me. Amber, especially.
Opening Line:
I never thought I’d be the type of girl to answer a sex ad.
My Review:
The first part of a serial, I Love My Breakup sets the scene by introducing you to Jessica, her ex-boyfriend David, her best friend Amber, and her new mystery lover picked up on impulse from a sex ad.
A light-hearted romp, this has a bit more depth to it than a lot of short romance reads you find on the Kindle charts – the fact that it has follow-ups means that Lacey has bothered to make the characters interesting and they have a bit more about them than just boobs and other appendages.
I quite enjoyed the story and the sex scenes weren’t too cringe-worthy or hilariously terrible. I mean, it had its moments of unadulterated cheese, but I read it without feeling embarrassed for the author which is a definite plus point!
Short but sweet, I Love My Breakup was just what I needed to read – it picked me up and made me smile. At just 77p on Amazon, it’s worth a go if you want something short and saucy with a little more storyline than just ‘oh, you’re fit – shall we bonk?’ 😉
My Rating: 3/5*
