Elf On The Shelf: A Story – Part 16

December 16th

The next day, when Mum went upstairs to get Lola’s hairbrush from her bedroom, she found Damien the elf on Lola’s desk surrounded by every necklace Mum owned. Each chain had been snapped at the clasp and they were all tied meticulously in knots.

James listened to Lola desperately pleading that she’d had nothing to do with it, before shutting himself in his own room and burying his head in a book. Trying his best to block out the constant gnawing alarm in his chest that grew with every passing day – it was getting harder and harder to convince himself that Damien the elf wasn’t somehow sentient.

Either that or he was going completely mad.
