Books of 2022 So Far…

Uhhh… hi?

Apparently 2022 has not been the year for blogging. Just going by the fact that it has been multiple months since I was last here, anyway.

But hey, here we are at last.

According to myself in January, I was aiming to read 50 books this year, but honestly, by the end of February I had dropped that target to 25 because I sort of… forgot how to read.

I just didn’t have the concentration. I couldn’t focus. I wanted stories, but I didn’t want to consume them from books, so I played lots of Switch games (often story-based ones) instead.

But then I had a big graphic novel binge and, about a month or so ago, I fully rediscovered my book-brain and hit that 25 book target and surpassed it. I’m up to 40 books finished now, so maybe I will hit that 50 book target after all.

I have read graphic novels, kindle books, short stories, physical books, and audiobooks – just going with the flow and letting my mood lead the way rather than trying to make reading lists or anything.

And yes, you did read that right, I have indeed returned to Kindle ownership and have happily been reading on it. I still prefer a physical book, but don’t find the Paperwhite unreadable like I did with the original Kindle.

I have DNFd a few as well as finishing these, some I intend to pick back up (they were perfectly good, I just wasn’t in the right brain-space when I started them), and some I do not.

So yeah, sorry about the big book dump – I don’t want to promise I won’t leave it so long next time, because I might, but also I felt like I should show my face again hereabouts!
