I have slightly more grown up offerings for you this week. No CBeebies flashbacks this time.
This Is The Life by Amy Macdonald
This came on when we were driving home from Tori’s orthodontist appointment on Thursday and I was reminded of how catchy and upbeat it is for a song that seems to mostly be about waking up with a hangover…
Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey
I love songs that we can all rock along to together, and this one is a belter.
My Birthday Hits! UK Chart Toppers on my birthday in 1996 & 1997
Killing Me Softly by Fugees
This is one of those songs I can sing almost word for word but can never remember the artist of. Which is a pain because it comes up in pub quizzes all the time.
I don’t understand the video though…
MMMBop by Hanson
We are now entering into the era where I actually remember the songs coming out – I can remember Hanson being interviewed and performing on Blue Peter, and this song being absolutely everywhere (including stuck in my head forever and ever).
This song also reminds me of my friend Tim, who was somewhat mortified to discover, some 6 or 7 years after it was released, that Hanson are, in fact, brothers. He thought they were girls and had a bit of a crush on the lead singer. Oops.
