Soundtrack Sunday

Uhhh, hi! So last week I wasn’t very well and didn’t blog, and then this week I spent most of it not knowing what day it was and forgot to blog.

But here I am again, back with some Sunday music and some determination to remember how days of the week work from now on. (No promises though!)

Build Me Up Buttercup by The Foundations

A classic that is impossible to not sing along to. So here’s the lyrics video for a quick Sunday Soundtrack Singalong!

Eternal Flame by The Bangles

And another one that everyone knows, just to keep on the theme!

This week’s featured colours are: Bumblebee, Egyptian, Peanut, French, Plum, and Steel. (Got a few extras this week to make up for last week’s MIA post.)

(chart of colour/shade names from grammarvocab.com)

Honey To The Bee by Billie

So weird when you remember that our beloved Rose Tyler was a teeny bopper pop princess before she found the Doctor.

Also weird that my brain remembers most of the words to this for no good reason. But hey, at least I didn’t have to think too hard for the prompt.

Walk Like An Egyptian by The Bangles

Anyone who says this wasn’t the first thing to come to mind when they saw the prompt is either a liar or under the age of 20.

Accidentally having a Bangles week, it seems – I wonder if they did a song about peanuts…

Found A Peanut

This is a family favourite from my childhood. Makes me think of long car trips and impromptu singalongs. I wonder if I could teach it to the Cubs next camp…

ABC Cafe/Red & Black by Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert Cast

…what?! It’s about the French Revolution. Just coz they don’t say the word French. Any excuse to revisit my very favourite musical and dream cast version.

Brown Girl In the Ring by Boney M

They sing the word ‘plum’ a lot in this. Though I don’t actually understand what ‘looks like the sugar in a plum’ is supposed to mean… sticky?

Steel Men by Jimmy Dean

Well today I learned that this was about a real event and not a made up one.

Which songs would you have picked for Bumblebee, Egyptian, Peanut, French, Plum, or Steel?
