Some days I really curse Blogtober. It gets to the end of the day, my brain is mush, and there’s that little voice in the back of my head going ‘youuuuu neeeeeed toooooo blogggggg’ when what I want to do is either stare at something mindless on my phone, or sleep.
But overall, I really enjoy it because it forces me into a habit and at the end of it I always feel satisfied in a job well done. I set a very low bar for myself, admittedly. I don’t promise myself 31 days of The Best Blog Posts Ever, but instead simply 31 days of posts.
If some of those days are a photo post, or even a post about how I don’t have the mental capacity to write a full post, then that’s just fine. Because I’ve shown up to class, even if all I did was wave at the teacher and then leave again.
It forces me to get creative – when you’re posting every day, you don’t want it to be the same thing repeatedly.
But it also lets me play catch up on things I have previously failed to keep up consistently in the year (looking at you Colour Chart 2024!) and hopefully gets me back in the rhythm so I can keep it up a little longer. Though with that one in particular, if I haven’t finished it by the end of December, then expect a mammoth edition on December 31st because I can’t be doing a 2024 chart in 2025 now, can I??
As far as Blogtober editions go, tomorrow will be that last of the Colour Charts – because Wednesday is the last day! How is October so nearly done? It only started a few days ago, surely.
Time flies when you’re chugging back and forward around the local countryside playing taxi for family and then zooming round further afield countryside for funsies! I’ve definitely packed a few miles in over the last month, that’s for sure.
Tomorrow I am going to treat Ditto (my S-Max) to a bit of a wash to say thank you for trundling us all around this month (yay harvest season and the muddy roads of joy) – her official colour name is Mica Stone Grey but she is definitely looking a little more on the Mica Stone Brown side at the moment. Luckily she wears it well.
See you tomorrow!
