Three Good Things

Hey Blogsters!

I have had A Week. It has consisted of some pretty epic highs, and also some very low swings.

It’s only Wednesday and I’m exhausted, but muddling on and finding the positives where I can to boost me through the brain wobbles I’ve been having.

On that note, here are my Three Good Things for the last week:

I got my paints out.

I have had Bobbety’s copy of Planet Defenders sat in my cupboard forever now, and I decided it was high time I got the next robot painted so that I can actually give her game back.

I really enjoy painting minis, I just suck at remembering to make the time to do it. Although these guys aren’t so mini, in comparison to other things I’ve painted.

This time it was the turn of the yellow bot – turns out orange is my new least favourite colour to paint with. Why does it show every brush stroke? It’s even worse than pink (my previous least favourite).

That said, I was pretty happy with how he turned out – he’s now sat in the cupboard with the blue bot.

Red bot next! (You can just see him in the background below waiting patiently to be primed and painted.)

Papa Roach

On Sunday I spent the afternoon and evening with an old friend having a long overdue catchup and also very much enjoying seeing Papa Roach live.

We are just choosing to ignore that it was the 25th Anniversary tour of their first album because… no thank you. Clearly not that old.

Unexpected Success.

Last night after Squirrels there was a bingo event at one of our local pubs in aid of the Scout group, so once we’d tidied up, most of the leaders wandered down to go join in.

We did not win at any of the bingo games, but there was a half-time quiz as well which was 20 questions of ‘what film or TV show is this piece of music from?’ with a bonus point if you knew that artist that produced it. Anyone who knows me well, knows that other than geography there probably isn’t a topic I am worse at than that.

Fellow Squirrel leader Hammy also felt the same about the subject, so we teamed up figuring that between us we might feel better about being so rubbish.

There probably isn’t a word to describe our expressions of amused bewilderment and utter confusion when we were announced as the winning team.

Because, what? We can only assume everyone else wasn’t listening and/or had drunk more than we had.

Hammy and I are now the proud owners of a voucher for a one day hire of a bouncy castle, courtesy of our combined ability to recognise the theme tunes to Saved By The Bell and The Pink Panther.

Seriously. I’m still laughing in confusion.

(Also won on the raffle – I brought home Ben the dog, and Hammy took home the cheese board!)
