Lesson 14
If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.
I don’t have too much experience with this one but from what little I have I agree wholeheartedly. Yay for hindsight.
Moreover, you probably don’t want to be in it because it’s just going to hurt unbearably at some point when it either falls apart and you can’t talk about it or people who shouldn’t find out, find out.
If you can’t walk through the park together holding hands and not have to dive behind the hedge every time you see another person then things probably aren’t going to work out. Even if you want them to.
Go find someone who is happy to stand beside you in full view and be together out in the world, someone who doesn’t mind meeting your friends or being dragged along to the odd family meal or BBQ. It will be more rewarding for both of you.
