Back in November, I completed NaNoWriMo and was a very happy bean. Sadly though, I did not finish my novel.
Faerie or No is not, it would appear, a 50,000 word novel unedited. Meaning that although I battled though and hit that word count, I never managed to complete the story I was trying to tell.
After NaNo finished I lost the mojo a bit and never quite found the energy or inclination to carry on and write the final few chapters of my novel.
This makes me sad.
With this in mind, I have signed up to July’s Camp NaNoWriMo to try and make that final push to give Eoghan, George and Tempest the ending they deserve instead of leaving them hanging on an adventure unfinished.
The word count is much lower than last time – a mere 10,000 words – so the pressure isn’t quite so great. Fingers crossed though, it will give me the push I need to get to written down so that I can start editing it properly and then hit the rewriting.
And my Beta readers can finally find out what happens!
10,000 isn’t mere by any means! It’s a lot more than some people manage so don’t sell yourself short. Good luck with giving your characters the ending you and they deserve.
Thank you! Utterly failed to write anything yesterday (oops!) so double word count for today!!
I’m in the same boat. I only managed about 400 words, but I hand wrote so I’ve got type them up and of course I’m going to edit them along the way. I have all day to catch up though so I’m not worried. Good luck to you.
Good luck to you too! We can do it 🙂
