4th July – #antiracismdaily


Over in America, 4th July is a holiday, celebrating freedom and independence.

But it isn’t an equal story, and it isn’t an honest one.

The above is a quote from a speech Frederick Douglass made in 1852, and yet it still rings true today.

Progress has been made, but not enough. Not in America, not in Britain, not world-wide.

We need to do more.

Here is Frederick’s full speech, read out by some of his living descendants. Please take ten minutes out of your day to watch, listen, and think:
