September 2020 TBR

I did really well in August, right up to the last week, where all the back-to-school-and-other-things-we-haven’t-had-to-think-about-for-months stuff caught up with me and I got a bit behind on where I wanted to be.

It was still a great month though – lots read and I enjoyed it all.

So, September is here (how is September here already?!) and I have picked out four more physical books to tackle, plus an audiobook & podcast series to listen to.

Hopefully.

Rebel Of The Sands by Alwyn Hamilton – Having been on my Wishlist forever, I was excited when it landed on my doorstep as part of a monthly subscription my friend gave me for my birthday. Also, it is so shiny, I love it already.

F.O.X.E.S. by M. A. Bennett – The next instalment of the S.T.A.G.S. series, which has never failed to horrify and delight me yet. I am EXCITED for this one.

Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen – You remember that book swap I was doing? Well, it sort of stalled a bit because the books my friend tried to send me vanished into a black hole somewhere between her house and mine! So in August I got a huge parcel containing my books for May, June, July, and August (plus another one for my birthday!) – and now I am playing catch up. This one has a very sparkly cover, which means it’s a winner already. Love me some glitter.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett– Another book swap catch up one. This isn’t a book I would ever pick up myself, and I haven’t seen the film either – but I am excited to give it a try. That is after all the whole point of the swap – to share in each others’ favourites and discover new things.

And on the TBL I have:

Fizzlesprocket (Everybody Loves Large Chests Vol. 2) by Neven Iliev – I looked down my list of audiobooks and couldn’t resist picking this one out as my next read. This is a LitRPG series and it is entirely ridiculous and I love every second of it. I am already bouncing in my seat a little bit watching it download onto my phone because I know it is going to be fun.

Earpedia: Animals by Sue Perkins – Plants last month, Animals this month. I think this series actually came out first so I’ve listened to them backwards, but never mind. I don’t think it really matters.

Let’s see if I get my mojo back this month!

  1. I always enjoy your book round up posts. The Help is a brilliant read. It takes you a few pages to get used to the language, but I loved it.
How lovely to get your backlog of book swap books altogether (but how annoying that they went missing in the first place!).
