2021 ~ Level 1 (January)

I am taking 2021 one step at a time – it’s hopefully going to be better than 2020 overall, but it’s going to be more of the same for quite a while I suspect.

So no resolutions from me this time, just monthly mini targets to keep me motivated and see me through Lockdown whatever we are up to now. Starting at Level 1 and going all the way up to Level 12, I am going to play this year as best I can and aim for a high score. Or something…

I have already told you about my Book Challenge and Alphabet Movie Challenge for the year, so the first mini targets for Level 1 are going to be to read books for prompts 1 & 2, and watch films A & B.

I’ve picked out my first book and I plan to get started on it this afternoon!

Prompt 1. A Fantasy Based On Mythology: The Testament Of Loki, by Joanne M. Harris

Aside from those on-going challenges, I am also planning to partake in The Guardian’s 31-Day Literary Diet:

‘Our one-a-day calendar will take you into magical realms of poetry and prose, argument and imagination. It will transport you to some places you always wanted to explore, but couldn’t find the time, and to others you never knew existed, where you will find strange and wonderful things.’

Taking a bit of time out of each day to maybe learn something new, and hopefully start the year with a bit of inspiration.

Lastly, I want to try and do at least one exercise workout each week that isn’t just Walking The Dog, which is pretty much all I do at the moment.

It might be finding a YouTube workout, digging out the old WiiFit, or just sticking on some tunes and having a downstairs disco to work up a sweat. No rules, just something extra. And once a week isn’t much, and more would be better, but it’s a minimum target to aim for.
