The 3 Ws…

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading:

I am continuing Shropshire Folktales by Amy Douglas, Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo, Thing Explainer: Complicated Stuff In Simple Words by Randall Munroe and have started listening to the audiobook of The Trials of Life: A Natural History Of Animal Behaviour by David Attenborough.

Technically, the Trials of Life is a re-read, as I have read my physical copy more than once when I was younger, but I am very much enjoying having it read to me by the man himself. And I get to grab the book and look at the pictures or read along if I want to, which is so much like the audiobook/storybook things you used to get as a kid that it is automatically very relaxing. (I had one of those about a green balloon called, I think, Kipper. Unless I am imagining it. But I’m sure I’m not. He was a tall, but bumpy, balloon and nobody picked him to buy at the fair…)

Recently finished:

To be honest, I didn’t physically read very much at all this week. Maybe a chapter of Hell Bent and a couple of stories in the Folk tale book, and that was it.

I did listen to the entirety of The Nothing Girl and then promptly download and also listen to the follow-up short story Little Donkey though, because it was just lovely. A sweet and gentle, heart-warming, funny romance set in sleepy rural England, with a mischievous donkey, a grumpy cat, an errant artist love interest and some shifty family goings-on. I will be getting the next book for certain when I get another Audible offer because I loved it.

What’s Next?

I guess my What’s Next is the same as it was last week, as I didn’t finish any of my physical reads!

Mary Berry is still patiently waiting for me to get my act together…
