White Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit

…why is saying that a thing? It makes zero sense. Is it to ward off evil? A wish for bunnies? Good luck?

Anyway. This is not supposed to be a post about rabbits, or superstitions, it is my usual bookish post for the first day of the year. And if last year is anything to go by, one of my only posts. Because I sort of forgot to blog in 2025.

Apologies.

2025 Round Up!

The good news is – I hit all of my reading goals and then some. I didn’t have to do any mad panic reading in December to get to my 52 book target which was nice for a change – and I read a decent mishmash of genres and styles through the year.

On To 2026

So what are my bookish plans for 2026?

(Yes, I forgot to take a screenshot before reading some of a book. Oops.)

Alongside those general goals, I have decided I want to try and use 2026 to finally get on and finish the series and trilogies and whatnot that I have read one or two volumes of, bought the next/rest of the books and then not actually read them.

But before then, my January challenge is to finish up all the books I’m halfway through, plus the review book I got sent just before Christmas.

Which means I’ve got 2 physical books, 1 kindle book, 1 audiobook and 1 graphic novel to crack on with – and if I get through them all, I’ll be one book ahead on my target for one book a week average, which will be a nice start.

Current Reads

Control Alter Delete by K. L. Kettle – YA Science Fiction Thriller (Physical ARC)

All Better Now by Neil Shusterman – YA Science Fiction Thriller (Physical Paperback)

Smitten By The Alien Saloon Owner (Cowboy Colony Mail-Order Brides #7) by Ursa Dax – Science Fiction Adult Romance (Kindle Unlimited)

The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman – Historical Non-Fiction Graphic Novel (Physical Copy)

Stain by Neven Iliev – LitRPG Fantasy Audiobook (Audible)

Anyone else setting any reading targets for 2026? Are there any new releases you are excited for in the coming year?

P.S. All my fancy graphics and statistic graphs are from the Storygraph app/website which I use as a handy reading journal/record and is brilliant – check it out here if you’re interested! (Not an ad, I just love it.)
