February Reading Round-Up

February has been a month full of sickness in our house but I have still managed to read 5 books and start a couple more.

I have read:

City of Glass (Mortal Instruments #3) by Cassandra Clare, 5/5*: This has been my favourite of the series so far although it did feel a bit like the end of a trilogy when it isn’t so I will be interested to see where it all goes next.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, 5/5*: Full Review Here

The Jester (The Riyria Chronicles #2.5) by Michael J. Sullivan, 5/5*: A short story audiobook installment of the Riyria Chronicles that stands perfectly well by itself and serves as a good preview of the series for newcomers like me. I really enjoyed the world and characterisation in this and am seriously considering investing my time in the Chronicles as my next epic fantasy venture.

The Night Has Teeth (The Magdeburg Trilogy #1) by Kat Kruger, 4.5/5*: This was a nice change from most YA werewolf novels out there. It was nothing spectacular but the alternative twist was refreshing even if all the main werewolf characters seemed to be having a supercar competition. It was like an episode of Top Gear at times with a Bugatti Veyron and Mercedes AMG floating around.

Dead Sexy Dragon (Dragon Heat #1) by Lolita Lopez, 3/5*: Full Review Coming Soon.

I have also started The Night Has Claws (Magdeburg Trilogy #2) by Kat Kruger, City of  Fallen Angels (Mortal Instruments #4) by Cassandra Clare and Darkness Rising (Lieberman Papers #4) by Frank Tallis (audiobook).

I am hoping that March is going to involve less illness for us all and I’m looking forward to discovering some more great books 🙂

11/36 books read so far in 2014!
