Not everyone who voted leave is a bigot or a racist.

Not everyone who voted stay is perfect.
Nobody is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ in this – there were two choices, we ended up with one that some people wanted and some people didn’t.

The people that voted stay are hurting today, but they still need to be kind.

The people that voted leave are feeling satisfied, they still need to be kind.

The people that didn’t vote but could have done might be feeling happy or scared or indifferent, they still need to be kind.

The people that didn’t vote because they couldn’t for whatever reason might be feeling let down or happy, they still need to be kind.

I have cried a lot of shocked, scared, sad and frustrated tears today, but I have done my best to be kind through it. Tomorrow, I will do better because the shock will have passed.

Tomorrow I will stand by my choice and what I believe, but will put my pride to one side if that is what needs to be done to get us through this. Together.

People who voted stay, people who voted leave, people who didn’t and couldn’t vote, migrants and refugees alike – regardless of everything, we need to stand together and try to be united. Because otherwise we all lose.
