Level 4, here we go!
April. Easter (and the associated holiday), followed by the Not-So-Smalls returning to school (assuming all goes as planned!)
As ever, I have my Book Challenge and Alphabet Movie Challenge ongoing, and I’m even further behind on my movies than I was before because I haven’t watched any – I have been binge watching Death In Paradise instead! For Level 4 I need to read books for prompts 6 & 7, and if I want to get back on track, I need to watch SIX films… erk. I should be up to H by the end of April. I have still only watched films A & B. Oops.
My book prompts for this month are ‘Written By An Author Who Uses Initials’ and ‘A Book That Has Been/Is Going To Be made into a film/TV Series’ – so I am planning to read A Blade So Black by L. L. McKinney, and The Knife Of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness for those.
My challenge for this month is to write to all my pen-pals. I haven’t properly put pen to paper since before Christmas and I really, really need to fix that. I just haven’t had the brain to write to people – it felt like I had nothing new or positive to say (even though I did really, I was just stuck in a bit of a mental health hole). I’m going to make a real effort this month, and try to send out some happy mail.
I must admit, I am finding the slide back towards ‘normality’ a little overwhelming and my anxiety is doing funny things – and yet I am looking forwards to it as well.
I guess baby-steps are the way to go, and I know the kids are desperate to go back to school. There’s a chance Cubs and Scouts will be back to socially distanced but face-to-face meetings again by the end of the month as well.
I’m going to have to re-learn how to actually interact with other human beings that are outside my household… weird.
Have you got any special plans for April?
