Carole’s Music Alphabet ~ G is for…

CMAgGirls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper

I am technically an ’80s child – sneaking in mid-’88 – although I remember the ’90s more than anything. I do however enjoy a fair bit of ’80s pop music – it is good fun even if the fashion is a little wacky on occasion. Although having said that, the hairstyles and dresses in the video for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun probably wouldn’t get a second glance out on the street today so maybe they’re not so wacky after all. Everything goes in circles in fashion, doesn’t it?

I like most of Cyndi Lauper’s music – there is something about her voice that carries power and emotion really well, whether it be in a fun song like this or a slower ballad like Time After Time or True Colours. I have listened to many of her tracks on repeat for hours and I’m still not tired of them.
