I have decided to start a new ‘thing’ on the blog for the year (we’ll see how long it lasts) where I post a ‘tidbit’ or ‘teaser’ from whatever I’m reading that week. The tidbit will be a couple of lines from the book along with the book blurb and a book trailer if I can find one – just to give you a taster of it without throwing my own opinion into it as you get in reviews.
‘Excerpt of CONSULTATION BETWEEN DR ANNABEL HARVEY AND PATIENT NATASHA HOWLAND, MONDAY 11/01, 09.00
NATASHA: It feels weird. You’d feel weird, wouldn’t you? I mean, to have been dead like that. I mean, I guess I must not have been properly dead, otherwise I wouldn’t be here now.
(Small laugh)
But to think my heart wasn’t beating for almost a quarter of a school lesson, when I think about it like that… yeah, it freaks me out.’

13 Minutes by Sarah Pinborough
I was dead for 13 minutes.
I don’t remember how I ended up in the icy water but I do know this – it wasn’t an accident and I wasn’t suicidal.
They say you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer, but when you’re a teenage girl, it’s hard to tell them apart.
My friends love me, I’m sure of it.
But that doesn’t mean they didn’t try to kill me.
Does it?
