It’s my birthday a month today so I thought I’d preempt the inevitable flood of people asking what I would like, and write a list.

So, in no particular order, things I would like include:

1) The June edition of the Sherbert Box.

This is a stationery subscription box from Sherbert Lane that I ogle regularly on Instagram, and the June box theme has been announced as ‘Bookworm’ which means that it is book themed stationery. It was practically designed with me in mind.

2) A New Camera

I love my Fuji x10, I do, it’s just… It’s time I moved on. What to, I’m not 100% certain. I think I need to visit a camera shop or two and have a play before I make up my mind.

3) Book Money for YALC

I have already had one birthday present way in advance – my lovely parents bought me my ticket for YALC. However, I know before I get there that there will be about four hundred books that I will want to buy at YALC. A tenner or a Waterstones voucher (they have a pop-up Waterstones at the venue for the weekend) towards a guilt-free purchase would make me a very happy bunny. It would also make my children less sad as I wouldn’t spend all their food money on books 😛

4) A frying pan with a lid

(Or just a lid that fits my frying pan) It surprises me just how frequently I want a lid on my frying pan. This gift would truly fill a gap in my life 😂 (and also save me lots of steam-scalded/burned fingers from where I have balanced a plate badly over the top of my pan!)

5) LEGO

I’m always buying Lego for other people – I want some for me! I quite like the look of the Big Ben set or anything Disney or Jurassic Park related 😄
(I resisted putting a cat or a dog on the list. I always want those, regardless of birthday proximity 😉 )
