Today, Caius and I are travelling north to attend a funeral that nobody was expecting.
On the morning of Monday 12th June, our friend James’ wife Michelle was admitted to hospital after suffering with headaches. Just a day later, after emergency surgery on discovery of a bleed on the brain due to a malignant brain tumor, the decision to turn off her life support had to be made.
The shock of this news was immense. Michelle had been happy and healthy, she and James had recently moved to a new home in the countryside, just a week before they had shared the news they were expecting their first child and they had a new puppy on the way in a few weeks time.
There was no warning, the tumour was ‘undetectable’ right up until it was too late to do anything.
Chelle made James happy – happier than I’d ever seen him. They were a team and they were best friends through everything.
Nothing we can say or do will bring Chelle back, but James launched a Just Giving campaign in her honour, to raise money for Brain Tumour Research, and it would mean the world if you could spare a donation towards the cause.
Click here to visit the Just Giving page in Michelle’s memory. Thank you.
